Frankincense
Frankincense represents purification, protection, and blessings. It has been used since ancient times to help create sacred spaces by cleansing it of negative energy.
As an essential oil frankincense is used for stress relief, to help boost the immune system by destroying bacteria and viruses, to help reduce inflammation, and to ease digestion; among other benefits. [1] It can also be found as a tincture or capsule.
As incense, frankincense is sometimes used to raise the vibration of a room by closing the negative portals.
Frankincense in Traditional Chinese Medicine
“With strong fragrance, frankincense belongs to the heart, liver, and spleen meridian and goes straight into the blood. On the one hand, it can regulate Qi and relieve pain that is associated with Qi stagnation. On the other hand, it can also promote blood circulation and stop pain, which links to blood stasis.” [2]
Reflections
Some of us can face difficult times where an abundance of negative energy is hoisted upon us. We keep calm and command our space; yet sometimes we need to use as many tools as possible to help move the energy. Frankincense can be a good friend when one needs to feel safe, calm, and balanced.
