Dark Mother Archetypes
Dark Mother Archetypes are also known as the ice queen, femme fatale, or narcissist.
Key theme: The desire to be superior to others while suppressing the true feminine aspects
Recognizing this archetype:
- Uses all sorts of manipulation in order to get the desired results (seduction, charm, emotional terrorism)
- May have the “sex priestess” or succubus vibe
- Has a high sense of self entitlement
- May show delusions of grandeur and will lash out when this is mentioned to them
- Needs external attention from the opposite sex in order to feel validated
- Addicted to cosmetic surgery
- May become violent if their true nature is exposed
- Will attack if challenged
- Ruthless in pursuit of wealth or material things
- May choose relationships with abusive men or women
- Shows conditional love or great disdain for their children
The Moon:
Dark Mother archetypes are related to the moon. Humanity has been in a cycle where femininity has been equated with the moon and seen as secondary to the solar light of the male. This is not accurate reflection of natural order but this structure help to set the stage for misogyny. [1]
The Antidote:
The antidote to this archetype is to heal one’s emotions and traumas so that one can embody love and kindness. This requires valuing honesty and compassion, as well as a desire to live without intentionally causing harm. Holy Mother is the antidote to Dark Mother.
